FAQ
Q: How many items do I have to order?
A: No order is too big or too small! One or one thousand, we can do it all. However, the greater the quantity ordered, the less expensive each item becomes. Some processes work better for others depending on the quantity. Stop in to talk to our staff about different options. We can usually offer you some alternatives.
Q: Can we personalize our apparel?
A: Yes! You can choose to have your name or number either screen printed or embroidered in various colors and sizes on your garment. This often prevents "lost" garments. A helpful visual chart is on display in our showroom. If you are placing a group order with names, we do require that you provide an email list of the names or a computer generated list./
Q: How much does screen printing a tee shirt cost?
A: The quantity ordered, number of colors in the design and amount of design locations will determine the cost of each shirt. Bring in your ideas for a custom quote. Please note we cannot (for legal reasons) print trademarked images, unless you provide the proper documentation. We will also not print items we feel are distasteful.
Q: My last screen printer charged a screen fee, do you do that?
A: No. We have no hidden charges; there are no additional art or screen fees.
Q: Can my business logo be embroidered?
A: Absolutely! Simply provide a clean logo. We will digitize the logo to be embroidered onto the garment of your choice. Digitizing is taking a flat picture on paper and "magically" creating a logo that can be stitched. Additional fees may apply for digitizing and special order thread colors.
Q: My group wants a variety of items, can we offer different setups to our members?
A: Sure, we will even help you with an order form. Please make sure you have all your groups orders before turing them in. Due to the cost of shipping and handling fees anyone from your group who orders late, may be charged up to $20 per items in late fees. Please read the question in regards to names, you might know who they are, but an "a" can easily look like an "o" and when we don't know who these people are, we need it in black & white, not pencil. If it applies to your order, we will sort each individual's order into a bag making distribution for you a snap.
If you are ordering shirts in bulk, it is the responsbility of the party picking up the items to ensure that you recieve your completed order. There are steps we take to make sure we produce your entire order. They include::
1. Ordering the exact quantity of garments you ordered
2. Counting the garments when they arrive
3. Counting and folding the garments and placing into boxes after they have been decorated.
4. Comparing the orginial order to what is invoiced.
After the items leave our store, we are not responsible for any shirts you claim to be missing.
Q: I've earned 3 patches for my letter jacket, can you sew them on?
A: In a flash. All of our services are performed in-house meaning quick turn around. You will also save money in the long run when your purchase your jacket and patches at Threads & Inks. Please call or email ahead of time to order the patches you need. If we need to create the patches, we will call you when they are ready, reducing the amount of time we have your jacket.
Q: Do I provide my own shirts?
A: Because Threads & Inks has access to so many clothing lines and styles, we feel that we can provide a better selection, quality and price than if you were to buy items at a retail store. You will also realize significant savings on services when you purchase your items at Threads & Inks and anyone purchasing their item directly from Threads & Inks has priority over a customer that has provided goods. Another advantage is that when you purchase your item directly fromt Threads & Inks, there is no tax involved because there is no tax on apparel in the state of MN. However, if you provide your own garments, by law, we have to charge tax on the decoration service. If you do provide your own goods, you must agree to our "Customer Goods Release Statement," which can be found in the store. We also reserve the right to refuse any garments that we feel we cannot print or stitch on.
Q: How long will my order take?
A: Threads & Inks will do their best to get your order back to you as soon as possible, however there are some circumstances that are out of our control such as weather, sickness, products being out of stock and custom garments made specifically for you such as a letter jacket. Please plan your timeline at least 3 weeks in advance from when you need your items. Any changes on your behalf, such as the quantity, colors, or design will alter the deadline and possibly the amount due. Constant check-ins about "the status of an order" only slow down our production team. We will call or email when your order is ready to be picked up.
Q: My son loves his sweatshirt that he received for his birthday, but there is now a hole in it, will you replace it?
A: Possibly. We will warranty normal wear for 90 days, but if he snags it on a chain link fence, you might have the chance to practice your sewing skills. If a seam opens up, we will either fix it or get a new one. Stop in with your receipt and the garment and we will let you know your options.
Q: Sounds great, how do I find you?
A: We are conveniently located off of 210th Street between Holyoke Ave and Cedar Ave. We are always open Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00, but please call if you would like to make an appointment outside of these hours. Please remember we are real people with real families and we might have prior obligations.
